Chris Brown is pushing back against rumors of tension with Usher after their joint concert series opened in Atlanta to mixed reactions from fans.
The singers began their historic five-show run at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 5. However, the opening night quickly became a talking point for reasons beyond the music. Fans complained about a late start, missing duets and a shorter-than-expected setlist.
The complaints also fueled speculation about a possible disagreement between the two performers. Brown appeared to address the conversation in an Instagram Story, telling followers that the internet was exaggerating and warning them not to believe everything they saw. However, he did not identify the specific claims he was responding to.
Fans question the opening-night experience
The concert was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. However, attendees reported that Brown and Usher did not take the stage until around 10 p.m.
That delay reportedly lasted between two and a half and three hours. Fans also said the singers performed no songs together, while several expected portions of the setlist were missing.
Some reports suggested that approximately an hour of planned material was cut. In addition, concertgoers said familiar moments associated with the tour, including Usher bringing women onstage, did not happen.
Reactions varied across social media. Some attendees described the experience as disappointing, while others questioned whether the show justified the ticket prices. A few also reportedly asked Ticketmaster for refunds.

Is there tension between the singers?
The absence of joint performances encouraged fans to speculate about a feud. However, the reports provided no confirmed evidence of a disagreement between Brown and Usher.
Brown’s social media response appeared to challenge the online narrative. Still, neither performer has publicly explained why the opening night differed from what fans expected.
A possible explanation for the shorter set
A possible curfew restriction has also entered the conversation. One attendee reportedly cited a city ordinance that required the concert to end around midnight.
If accurate, that restriction could help explain why parts of the planned performances were removed. However, the claim remains unconfirmed. Neither the artists, the venue nor city officials have publicly identified a curfew as the reason for the cuts.
The delay itself also remains unexplained.

A record-setting Atlanta run
Despite the complaints, the concert series marks a major milestone for Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Brown and Usher are the first performers to stage five shows at the venue during a single tour stop.
The run surpasses Beyoncé’s previous record of four shows at the stadium. The remaining dates are reported as Nov. 6, 8, 10 and 11.
For now, the opening-night complaints and feud rumors remain separate issues. Fans have raised questions about the concert experience, but there is no confirmed explanation for the delay, shortened setlist or missing collaborations.
