Inside the Lioness premiere night in New York
Before the screening began, the cast’s leading women, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Jill Wagner and Laysla De Oliveira, sat down for a Q&A with the audience. That conversation gave fans an early look at how the new season builds on the show’s central relationships heading into its third chapter.
Executives from both Paramount+ and 101 Studios also joined the celebration. 101 Studios CEO David Glasser, director Michael Friedman, and executive producers Ron Burkle and David Lemanowicz represented the production side of the evening. Paramount+ leadership was equally present, with Chair of Direct-to-Consumer Cindy Holland, EVP Jane Wiseman and Paramount Television Studios Chair Dana Goldberg all attending as well.
Following the screening, guests moved to an afterparty at Faena New York. The venue served signature cocktails themed around the show, including the Lioness Spritz, the Raven and the Safe House. Cast members mingled with guests throughout the night while a live DJ kept the party going.
What to expect from Lioness season three
Created and written by Taylor Sheridan, the new season follows Joe, played by Saldaña, as she navigates hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals threatening to collapse the line between her duty and her home life. Guided by Kaitlyn, played by Kidman, and Westfield, played by Kelly, Joe faces enemies working from the shadows as the danger surrounding her expands into every corner of her life.
The new season also welcomes Genesis Rodriguez and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman to the cast. Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios produced the season, with Sheridan serving alongside an extensive executive producing team that includes Saldaña, Kidman, Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Friedman, Wagner, Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski and Keith Cox.
Lioness season three premieres August 2 on Paramount+, giving fans a full new chapter of the espionage drama to dive into this summer.
