The Mississippi Board of Nursing has dismissed an anonymous professional misconduct complaint filed against Christine Wonsley, the mother of Nolan Wells.
Wonsley announced the decision, saying it closes another chapter in her family’s ongoing search for answers following her son’s disappearance and death.
While the nursing matter has ended, the investigation into Nolan Wells’ case remains active.
Nolan Wells’ Mother Says Complaint Added to Family’s Pain
According to Wonsley, the complaint created additional emotional stress during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
She said the dismissal reaffirms her commitment to providing quality care to her patients while allowing her to continue focusing on her son’s case.
Wonsley also emphasized that her pursuit of justice for Nolan remains unchanged.
Attorney Ben Crump Calls Complaint an Intimidation Tactic
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represents Wonsley, argued that the complaint was an attempt to intimidate her.
According to Crump, the anonymous allegation surfaced after Wonsley began speaking publicly and demanding answers about her son’s disappearance and death.
He has maintained that the family deserves transparency as authorities continue their investigation.
Investigation Into Nolan Wells Continues
Although the professional misconduct complaint has been dismissed, the criminal investigation has not concluded.
One official autopsy remains under review by a grand jury.
Meanwhile, an independent autopsy commissioned by the Wells family did not reach a definitive conclusion.
Authorities have not announced when the investigation will be completed or whether additional findings will be released.

Wonsley said the dismissal allows her to move forward professionally while continuing to seek accountability in her son’s case.
