Tiffany Haddish has officially resolved the DUI case stemming from her 2022 arrest in Georgia.
The comedian and actress pleaded guilty Tuesday, Aug. 11, to a misdemeanor alcohol-related driving charge. She was sentenced to 12 months of probation and will not serve additional jail time, according to the Associated Press.
Haddish entered the plea by video as her long-delayed case was set to go to trial.

As part of the sentence, Haddish must avoid drugs and alcohol during her probation.
She must also submit to testing and complete a substance abuse evaluation. Her Georgia driver’s license was suspended as part of the sentence, according to reports.
Haddish also received credit for the brief amount of time she previously spent in jail after her arrest.
Other charges connected to the case were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
The resolution brings an end to a legal case that had remained open for more than four years.
What happened in Tiffany Haddish’s 2022 arrest?
The case began on Jan. 14, 2022, in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Police received a 911 call about a driver who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of an SUV at a traffic light. Officers later located a vehicle matching the description and stopped Haddish as she was driving into a neighborhood.
Haddish was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail. She was released after posting bond.
The case then continued for several years before finally reaching a resolution.
In May 2026, Haddish’s attorneys asked the court to dismiss the case because of the lengthy delay. They argued that the more than four-year wait had affected Haddish personally and professionally.
A judge rejected the request, finding that Haddish and her attorneys were responsible for some of the delays.

The Georgia case was not the only DUI-related legal matter Haddish has faced.
In November 2023, she was arrested in Beverly Hills, California, after police received a report of a woman who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Haddish later reached a deal with prosecutors in February 2024. She pleaded no contest to a vehicle code violation, while two misdemeanor DUI charges were dropped.
Her latest plea therefore resolves the separate Georgia case that had been pending since 2022.
Tiffany Haddish avoids additional jail time
Despite the lengthy legal process, Haddish will not spend additional time behind bars for the Georgia case.
Instead, she will serve a year of probation while following the court’s requirements regarding alcohol, drugs, testing and treatment.
The resolution gives Haddish a path to move forward after years of legal uncertainty.
The comedian is best known for her breakout role in Girls Trip and her work in stand-up comedy, television and film. She has also won an Emmy and a Grammy during her career.
