November’s watchlist brings together a major sports legacy, high-fashion legal drama, lavish period storytelling and a fresh comedy special. From Muhammad Ali’s life beyond the boxing ring to Janelle James taking her humor to the stage, these four selections offer different reasons to make room for something new on your screen.
Here is what to know about each title, where to watch and why it deserves attention.
The Greatest
Where to watch: Prime Video
Release: November 4. All eight episodes are streaming now.
Muhammad Ali’s story reaches the screen in The Greatest, the first authorized scripted series about the boxing champion’s life. Jaalen Best stars as Ali, tracing his journey from young Cassius Clay in Louisville to one of the most recognized figures in sports and popular culture.
The series looks beyond his victories in the ring. It explores his personal relationships, family life, political battles and the experiences that shaped his public identity. Michael Ealy also appears as Malcolm X.
This story matters because Ali’s influence reached far beyond boxing. He was an athlete, activist and outspoken public figure whose choices challenged expectations in America. The series gives a new generation an opportunity to engage with the man behind the legend.
All’s Fair, season two
Where to watch: Hulu
Release: November 4. Three episodes premiered, with new episodes on Wednesdays.
The lawyers of Grant, Ronson and Greene are back for another round of high-stakes cases and personal complications. Season two follows the firm’s members as new alliances form, friendships face pressure and a shocking revelation threatens the business they have built.
Kim Kardashian returns alongside Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts and Teyana Taylor. Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close are also part of the cast.
The series leans into the mix of legal drama, fashion and complicated relationships. Its high-profile ensemble also brings several women with distinct screen identities into the same story. For viewers who enjoy glossy dramas where professional ambition and personal loyalty collide, the new season offers another round of courtroom tension.
The eight-episode season began with three episodes. New installments arrive each Wednesday, with the finale scheduled for December 2.
The Gilded Age, season four
Where to watch: HBO and HBO Max
Release: November 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes arrive Sundays.
The world of New York’s wealthy elite returns in season four of The Gilded Age. Bertha Russell’s rise has changed the social order, but her family must now face the consequences. Agnes van Rhijn sees an opportunity to reclaim her position, Marian begins a new chapter and Peggy works to gain acceptance from her future in-laws.
The series pairs lavish costumes and grand settings with stories about power, class and social ambition. Its Black characters also add an important dimension to the period drama. Denée Benton, Audra McDonald and other cast members bring Black experiences and perspectives into a world often presented through the lives of wealthy white families.
With eight episodes scheduled for weekly release, there is plenty of time to follow the season’s shifting alliances and personal battles.
Janelle James: How Romantic
Where to watch: Netflix
Release: November 10.
Janelle James steps away from her role as Principal Ava on Abbott Elementary and takes center stage in her first hour-long stand-up special. In Janelle James: How Romantic, she tackles relationships, body counts, bank accounts and why women should wrestle men.
James has built a strong comedy presence through her sharp delivery and distinctive approach to everyday observations. This special gives viewers a chance to experience more of her humor outside the television character that introduced her to many audiences.
Its cultural appeal also comes from seeing a Black woman comedian lead her own major streaming comedy event. Expect an hour built around bold observations and an unapologetic point of view. Netflix lists the special for November 10.
Make room on the watchlist
These four titles offer different ways to spend screen time this November. The Greatest revisits a cultural icon, All’s Fair brings back its fashionable legal drama, The Gilded Age continues its story of wealth and social power, and Janelle James brings a new comedy special to Netflix.
The choice is yours. Pick the story that speaks to you, add the release dates to your calendar and keep an eye on what deserves a deeper conversation. A future Haute Takes review can take it from there.
