Shaboozey casts Ciara Miller as a western outlaw in ‘Cowgirl’
The Summer House star plays Cherie Lee, the revenge-driven heroine at the center of Shaboozey’s upcoming concept album
Shaboozey has released the music video for Cowgirl, a cinematic new single that introduces Ciara Miller as Cherie Lee, the central character in his forthcoming concept album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales. The video marks the first major visual chapter in the project’s revenge-driven story and arrives ahead of the album’s July 31 release.
Who is Cherie Lee?
According to the album’s official synopsis, Cherie Lee begins her journey after witnessing the murder of her sheriff father at the hands of a gang called the Bootcut Boys. Her pursuit of revenge eventually leads to an unexpected romance, creating the emotional conflict that drives the record from start to finish.
Shaboozey previously described the album as a continuous western narrative told through every song, with Cherie Lee at its center. The project represents a significant shift from his 2024 debut album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which focused on personal reflection. This time, he is building a fully realized fictional universe with recurring characters and a connected storyline across the full tracklist.
Why Ciara Miller
Miller, best known to Bravo audiences as a fan favorite on Summer House, plays Cherie as a grieving outlaw channeling her loss into a relentless quest for revenge across the Old West. The video, directed by Shaboozey and Logan Meis, leans into classic western imagery while expanding on story elements teased in earlier album trailers.
The casting brings together two rising names from different corners of pop culture at a moment when both are drawing significant attention. Miller is currently at the center of a major storyline playing out on the Summer House Season 11 reunion, while Shaboozey has spent the past two years building one of music’s most talked-about crossover careers.
Shaboozey’s rise to the top
His recent run includes a feature on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, a record-tying stretch at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with A Bar Song (Tipsy) and a Grammy-winning collaboration with Jelly Roll. The Cowgirl video adds another layer to a rollout that has been building steadily toward the July 31 album release.
After the album drops, Shaboozey launches the Outlaws Never Die Tour in the fall, taking the project on the road.
What comes next for Miller
Miller will appear in one more installment of the Summer House Season 11 reunion. Part 3 airs on Tuesday, June 9, at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
