Severe weather swept across southeast Wisconsin on Monday, prompting multiple Wisconsin thunderstorm warnings as dangerous storms brought large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall.
Although earlier tornado warnings have expired, the National Weather Service (NWS) continues to warn residents about severe thunderstorms, flash flooding, and extreme heat across several counties.
Officials urged residents to remain alert as storms moved through the region.
Wisconsin thunderstorm warnings remain active
The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for several counties Monday afternoon.
Racine and Kenosha counties remained under a warning until 1:15 p.m. after forecasters detected a storm near Sturtevant capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.
The NWS also issued a warning for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties until 1:30 p.m. Meteorologists said a storm over Lake Winnebago could produce wind gusts of up to 70 mph along with tennis ball-sized hail.
Severe thunderstorm watch continues into the evening
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Monday for parts of southeast Wisconsin.
The watch includes Fond du Lac, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, and Washington counties.
Forecasters warned that conditions remain favorable for additional severe storms capable of producing damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
Flash flooding threatens Kenosha and Racine counties
Heavy rainfall also increased the risk of flooding across portions of southeast Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for Kenosha County and western Racine County until 3 p.m. Monday.
Officials warned that excessive rainfall could cause flooding in urban neighborhoods, low-lying areas, small creeks, highways, and streets with poor drainage.
Residents were encouraged to avoid driving through flooded roadways.
Large hail reported across southeast Wisconsin
Several communities reported significant hail as storms moved across the state.
FOX6 viewers shared photos showing large hail in Neosho and Ashippun after storms crossed Dodge County and nearby areas.
Additional viewer video captured severe weather moving through Watertown as the storm system continued eastward.
The reports highlighted the intensity of Monday’s severe weather outbreak.
Heat advisory remains in effect
Even as storms moved across the region, dangerous heat continued to affect southeast Wisconsin.

Weather officials urged residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and monitor weather alerts as severe conditions continue.
