The Atlanta Falcons have secured one of the NFL’s brightest young stars for years to come.
According to multiple league sources, Bijan Robinson has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $75 million, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.
The new deal carries an average annual value of $22.25 million and includes $51 million in guaranteed money, setting a new benchmark for the position.

Negotiations between Robinson and the Falcons stretched over several months before both sides reached an agreement.
The extension ends any uncertainty surrounding the 24-year-old star, who had missed much of the first week of training camp while contract discussions continued.
Robinson now joins wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts as Atlanta’s young offensive stars to receive lucrative long-term extensions this offseason.
The Falcons have also signed offensive guard Matthew Bergeron to a new deal, reinforcing the team’s commitment to its young core.
Robinson has become one of the NFL’s elite playmakers
Since entering the league as the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Robinson has established himself as one of football’s most dynamic offensive weapons.
Last season, he led the NFL with 2,298 all-purpose yards, showcasing his ability as both a runner and receiver.
Over the past three seasons, Robinson has accumulated 5,648 yards from scrimmage, the most in the league during that span.
Only Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry have rushed for more yards than Robinson’s 3,910 rushing yards over the same period.
His consistent production made him a priority for the Falcons despite already exercising his fifth-year contract option earlier this year.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Robinson’s professionalism and influence inside the organization.
Stefanski said Robinson’s impact extends beyond his physical talent, pointing to his work ethic, preparation and leadership in the locker room.
Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees echoed those sentiments, describing Robinson as someone who loves football and approaches every day with enthusiasm.

NFL star gains global recognition
Robinson’s popularity has grown beyond football.
During this summer’s FIFA World Cup, he strengthened friendships with soccer stars Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, saying he admires their professionalism and team-first mentality.
The Falcons star also traveled to Europe earlier this year for promotional events and expects to reunite with several international athletes when Atlanta plays in Madrid later this season.
As Robinson enters the prime of his career, the Falcons have made it clear they view him as the centerpiece of their offense for years to come.
With a record-setting contract now finalized, Robinson can turn his full attention to chasing his first postseason appearance and helping Atlanta compete for a championship.
