Samuel L. Jackson is taking the spotlight in Frisco King, a new spinoff of the hit series Tulsa King coming to Paramount+ in 2026.
The streaming service has released first-look images from the upcoming series, which centers on Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr.
The character is a hitman whose life changes after he spares Dwight Manfredi, played by Sylvester Stallone, while they are in prison.
Samuel L. Jackson gets his own Tulsa King story
Frisco King follows Russell Washington after his time in prison with Dwight.
After heading to Frisco, Texas, an affluent suburb of Dallas, Russell sets out to build a criminal empire of his own.
That journey moves the story away from Tulsa and into a new setting. It also gives Jackson the opportunity to lead a crime drama within the world created by Tulsa King.
While Stallone will appear in the premiere, his role will become much smaller as the season progresses. The story will then focus primarily on Russell and his attempt to establish himself in Texas.
Sylvester Stallone appears in the premiere
Stallone is expected to return as Dwight Manfredi for the premiere episode.
However, the actor will not remain the central character throughout the season.
Executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros emphasized that Frisco King belongs to Russell Washington. That makes the spinoff a significant expansion of the Tulsa King universe.
For fans of the original series, Stallone’s appearance provides a connection to the story they already know. At the same time, Jackson gets the opportunity to establish a new chapter within the franchise.
Jackson builds a new criminal empire
Russell will not attempt to build his new operation alone.
The spinoff introduces several new characters who become part of his crew. Asa Germann plays Teddy, while Kai Caster portrays Keith.
Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann also join the cast as London and Avery.
The group will help Russell develop his new enterprise as he attempts to establish himself in Frisco.
Their involvement should give the series a new dynamic while Russell navigates the challenges that come with building a criminal organization.
Taylor Sheridan writes Frisco King
Frisco King comes from Taylor Sheridan, the creator and writer behind the broader Tulsa King universe.
The new series expands the franchise while introducing a different lead, setting and group of characters.
Paramount+ has confirmed that Frisco King is coming in 2026. However, the streaming service has not announced an official premiere date yet.
With Jackson leading the series and Stallone appearing in the opening episode, the spinoff gives Tulsa King fans another crime story to follow.
