R&B singer Keke Wyatt was arrested in Henry County, Georgia, on Sept. 20 and booked on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and cruelty to children. She was released two days later after posting a $1,050 bond, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The circumstances behind the arrest remain unclear. Authorities have not publicly detailed what allegedly happened, and Wyatt has not addressed the case publicly. The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.

A career rooted in gospel and R&B
Born Ke’Tara Shavon Wyatt on March 10, 1982, in Indianapolis, Wyatt grew up in a musical family. She began singing at age 2, performed live by age 5 and was recording gospel music professionally by age 10.
Her national breakthrough came through collaborations with R&B singer Avant. Their duet My First Love became a major hit, and the pair later reunited for Nothing in This World. Both songs appeared on Wyatt’s debut album, Soul Sista, which earned gold certification.
Wyatt has continued releasing music throughout her career. Her most recent full-length album, Certified, was released through Shanachie Entertainment in 2024.
Her television career also expanded her audience. Wyatt appeared on TV One’s R&B Divas: Atlanta from 2012 to 2014 before starring in the docuseries Keke Wyatt’s World.
Family life and public profile
Wyatt has been married three times. She married former road manager Rahmat Morton in 2000, when she was 18, and the couple divorced in 2009. She married ordained minister Michael Ford in 2010, with their relationship featured on R&B Divas: Atlanta. They divorced in 2018.
Later that year, Wyatt married her childhood boyfriend, Zackariah Darring.
She is the mother of 11 biological children and has also helped raise a stepdaughter. Her family life has occasionally been part of her public story, including her son’s health challenges and the loss of a daughter who was stillborn.
