Zendaya has shocked fans with one of her shortest hairstyles yet.
The actor debuted a dramatic pixie cut during New York Fashion Week. She showed off the new look while attending the Prada Paradoxe pop-up party in New York.
The hairstyle marks a major change from the long, glamorous looks she wore during The Odyssey press tour. This time, Zendaya traded waist-length waves for a closely cropped style with soft curls on top.
Zendaya embraces a bold pixie cut
Zendaya has never been afraid to experiment with her hair.
Over the years, she has worn everything from sleek lobs to micro bobs and long waves. However, her latest pixie cut takes the transformation even further.
The new style features a close crop around the back and sides. Meanwhile, soft curls sit high on the crown, creating an airy and romantic finish.
The look follows several shorter hairstyles Zendaya has tested recently. She previously moved from a curly bob into a bixie style before committing to the new pixie.
Now, the actor appears ready to embrace the short cut fully.
Zendaya swaps long waves for a softer look
The pixie cut is a striking departure from Zendaya’s recent The Odyssey appearances.
During the film’s promotional tour, she wore dramatic, waist-skimming waves and extensions. Those long styles complemented her couture outfits and gave her a statuesque appearance.
By comparison, her NYFW hairstyle feels lighter and more playful.
The soft curls also keep the short cut from looking severe. Instead, the texture gives Zendaya’s pixie a feminine and romantic feel.
Her Prada outfit followed the same direction. She paired a bottle-green sweater with a pink button-down and a brown slip skirt featuring chartreuse details.
As a result, the entire look felt colorful, soft and fashion-forward.
Her beauty look adds another twist
Zendaya’s makeup also complemented the new haircut.
Longtime makeup artist Ernesto Casillas created a soft lavender-inspired look. He reportedly drew inspiration from Prada Beauty products and Zendaya’s summer tan.
The makeup featured color across her cheeks and nose. Muted lavender tones also appeared around her eyes.
A dewy lip and doll-like lashes completed the look.
Together, the makeup and hairstyle created a whimsical finish. The shorter haircut allowed Zendaya’s face and makeup to take center stage.
Zendaya proves the pixie can be versatile
The new haircut did not stay limited to the glamorous NYFW event.
Zendaya was later seen heading to dinner in New York with her Euphoria co-stars Hunter Schafer and Alexa Demie.
For the casual outing, she wore a red sweater, straight-leg white jeans and black patent loafers.
Interestingly, the pixie looked completely different with the more relaxed outfit.
The tousled curls remained visible on top, while the close crop at the nape showed off the haircut’s shape.
That versatility could make the style one of Zendaya’s most memorable beauty transformations.
Zendaya’s shortest look makes a statement
Zendaya’s latest pixie cut proves that she can make almost any hairstyle work.
After embracing long waves for The Odyssey, she has now gone in the opposite direction with a bold and playful crop.
Furthermore, the transformation shows how dramatically a haircut can change an overall fashion look.
With NYFW providing the perfect backdrop, Zendaya used the moment to introduce fans to another side of her style.
The pixie may be short, but the fashion statement is anything but small.
