They Will Kill You HBO Max
Zazie Beetz stars as Asia, an ex con who takes a housekeeping job at an exclusive Manhattan high rise while searching for her sister. However, the building turns out to be a temple of Satan, and the immortal residents want her as a sacrifice. Director Kirill Sokolov blends Rosemary’s Baby energy with cartoonish mayhem, and Patricia Arquette adds a gloriously odd turn.
Hoppers Disney+
In Pixar’s quirky sci fi comedy, Mabel (Piper Curda) gets her mind hopped into a robotic beaver to stop a highway project. Along the way, she learns plenty about nature and ends up helping the greedy mayor (Jon Hamm) she set out to beat.
David Netflix
The Old Testament tale becomes an animated musical. Young shepherd David (Brandon Engman) faces Goliath, and later, as a soldier (Phil Wickham), he makes a dangerous enemy of King Saul.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert Paramount+
Baz Luhrmann mines unseen footage from Presley’s Las Vegas residency between 1969 and 1976. Beyond the hits, the film captures the King’s humor as he jokes with crowds and bandmates.
I Am Frankelda Netflix
Fans of Guillermo del Toro will love this Mexican stop motion musical fantasy. In a realm fueled by human fear, a tormented prince (Arturo Mercado Jr.) recruits a teenage writer (Mireya Mendoza) as his royal nightmare maker.
Keeper Hulu
