T-Pain and Akon’s Konvict Entertainment are facing another legal fight over money.
The singer and producer has filed a lawsuit against the label, alleging it failed to pay him nearly $500,000 in royalties.
According to the lawsuit, Konvict received more than $1.3 million in royalties from a distributor in March. The money reportedly came from music sales generated during the second half of 2025.
T-Pain claims his agreement entitles him to 75% of the label’s net royalties.
T-Pain claims nearly $489,000 remains unpaid
According to the lawsuit, Konvict paid T-Pain $489,047 in June.
However, he alleges that the label still owes him another $489,047.
The lawsuit claims Konvict directed T-Pain to seek the remaining payment from its affiliate, BuVision. His team allegedly attempted to collect the money but was unsuccessful.
The dispute has now returned to court as T-Pain seeks the balance he says he is owed.
T-Pain and Akon’s label have history
This is not the first time T-Pain and Konvict Entertainment have battled over royalties.
T-Pain previously sued the label in 2018 over unpaid royalties.
That case remained unresolved for years before the parties reached a settlement in 2025. Konvict agreed to pay T-Pain $114,000 as part of the settlement while admitting no liability.
The latest lawsuit marks another chapter in the long-running financial dispute.
T-Pain returns to court over royalties
The new case highlights the financial complexities that can follow successful music catalogs.
T-Pain has worked with Konvict Entertainment for years and has released music connected to the label. Now, he is seeking additional payments that he claims should have been distributed under his agreement.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Konvict Entertainment will have an opportunity to respond to the claims.
For now, the dispute puts the spotlight back on royalty agreements and the money generated by music sales.
