Conair has recalled 12,660 Cuisinart gas grills due to a shattering glass hazard that poses a serious laceration risk to anyone nearby. The Consumer Product Safety Commission posted the official recall notice and urges all owners to stop using the grill immediately.
The CPSC confirmed 37 reports of glass shattering during normal use of the affected grill. One fire also occurred, though no injuries have been reported so far. With summer grilling season in full swing, the timing of the recall gives owners reason to act quickly.
Which Cuisinart grill this recall covers
The recall targets the stainless-steel Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill. This model combines a griddle, a stove-top burner and a pizza oven. The pizza oven features a tempered glass window sitting on top of the grill lid. That glass is the source of the hazard.
Retailers sold the grill at Lowe’s, Walmart and through cuisinart.com between December 2024 and May 2026. The original retail price ranged from $500 to $750.
How to check if your Cuisinart grill is part of the recall
Owners should visit Conair’s website to verify whether their specific grill falls within the recall. The CPSC has published instructions for safely removing the tempered glass window from the pizza oven. After removing the glass, owners need to upload two photos to Conair’s website. One photo should show the removed glass panel. The other should clearly show the grill’s serial number.
Once Conair confirms the photos match a recalled unit, the owner qualifies for a refund. Conair will send a $500 check or cover the full original purchase price with valid proof of receipt.
What to do with the Cuisinart grill after the recall refund
The CPSC includes one additional step once owners receive their refund. They should write the word Recall in black permanent marker on the removed tempered glass and throw it away. This step helps prevent the glass from being reused or resold.
Owners should not continue using the grill in the meantime. The risk applies whenever the grill runs, not just at high temperatures or under specific conditions. Stopping use now is the safest approach while the refund process is completed.
