Tony Yayo is adding a new title to his growing résumé.
The G-Unit rapper has launched “Feed Yayo,” a new food and culture series on Complex. The show combines his passion for food with celebrity conversations, different cuisines and plenty of personality.
During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Tony Yayo explained how his love for food developed over the years.
Tony Yayo Turns His Love of Food Into ‘Feed Yayo’
Yayo said touring with 50 Cent helped him become more adventurous with food.
While traveling, he visited restaurants, hotels and cities around the world. Those experiences introduced him to dishes he might not have tried otherwise.
His food adventures have included deer burgers, alligator nuggets, duck, escargot and caviar.
However, Yayo does not actually cook on Feed Yayo. Instead, the show brings different chefs into the spotlight.
Chefs from across New York, including the Bronx and Queens, have appeared on the series. Yayo and his team then taste the food and give their honest opinions.
If a dish misses the mark, they say so. If the food delivers, they give the chef credit.
That straightforward approach gives the show its own personality.
Tony Yayo Welcomes Celebrity Guests
The series also gives Yayo an opportunity to connect with familiar faces from entertainment.
The first episode featured Don Rollins, who joked about wanting Charlamagne Tha God to appear on the show.
Anthony Anderson also joined the episode, giving viewers another recognizable name to kick off the series.
Interestingly, the Anthony Anderson episode originally started as a pilot. However, Complex liked the project enough to turn it into an official episode.
Yayo credited several people at Complex for helping bring the concept together.
According to the rapper, Mark Fernandez came up with the “Feed Yayo” name. Meanwhile, Mark Ecko designed the show’s logo.
Yayo also shouted out the rest of the team, including Noel and Scott, for helping develop the series.
Tony Yayo Says He’s Having a Career “Second Run”
Beyond Feed Yayo, Yayo is exploring several new opportunities.
During the interview, he reflected on his career and said he feels like he is experiencing a second run.
He even joked that he is “hotter than ’05” right now.
The rapper recently celebrated reaching more than 1,000 subscribers with The Volume. He also has his new Complex series and an acting opportunity on the way.
Clearly, Yayo is not slowing down.
Tony Yayo Talks ‘Tires’ and Acting
Yayo also discussed his appearance on “Tires,” the Netflix comedy series starring Shane Gillis.
The rapper described his role as a small cameo. Still, he sees the opportunity as a chance to expand his acting career.
Yayo revealed that he has spoken with Gillis about potentially appearing in Season 4 of the series.
Meanwhile, he has already started preparing for more acting opportunities. Yayo said he took acting classes with coach Wendy, who has worked with other actors in Hollywood.
For Yayo, the move into acting represents another way to expand his creative career.
Tony Yayo Is Building a New Chapter
Feed Yayo gives Tony Yayo a chance to explore interests beyond music.
His years with G-Unit and 50 Cent established him as a recognizable figure in hip-hop. Now, he is using that experience to explore food, culture, television and acting.
Moreover, his passion for food gives Feed Yayo a personal foundation.
What started with trying different dishes while touring has now become a show on one of the biggest platforms in music and culture.
As Yayo continues to pursue new opportunities, Feed Yayo could become an important part of his next chapter.
