The night delivered historic firsts, repeat victories and recognition for both established stars and emerging talent.

Bad Bunny makes history

The biggest headline of the night came when 1. Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, marking the first time a primarily Spanish-language album received the award. The achievement reflected the growing influence of global music in the U.S. and highlighted Bad Bunny’s ongoing impact on mainstream culture.

Kendrick Lamar leads with record of the year

2. Kendrick Lamar led the nominations with nine nods and secured Record of the Year for “luther,” a collaboration with 3. SZA. Lamar’s repeated success in top categories underscores his continued dominance and influence in the rap and hip-hop community.

Billie Eilish earns song of the year

4. Billie Eilish, alongside 5. Finneas O’Connell, took home Song of the Year for “WILDFLOWER,” adding another major win to her career and showcasing her talent for emotional songwriting that resonates widely with audiences.

Breakthrough artists shine

6. Olivia Dean won Best New Artist, signaling a rise in fresh talent. Her win represented the Grammys’ ongoing commitment to recognizing performers poised to shape the next generation of music. Other standout newcomers also made strong impressions across multiple genres, from pop to global music.

Recognizing behind-the-scenes talent

Producers and songwriters were celebrated as well. 7. Cirkut earned Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, while 8. Amy Allen won Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical. These wins emphasized the critical role that creators behind the microphone play in defining the sound of modern music.

Pop categories highlight diverse voices

In pop, 9. Lola Young won Best Pop Solo Performance for “Messy,” while 10. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande captured Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with “Defying Gravity.” The categories demonstrated a blend of established stars and emerging voices shaping contemporary pop music.

Summary of remaining categories

Across the remaining 85 categories, the Grammys honored achievements in rock, R&B, rap, country, Latin, jazz, gospel, classical, and global music. Each genre featured strong competition between returning stars and newcomers. While only selected categories were broadcast live, winners included artists expanding genre boundaries, experimenting with production, and blending cultural influences into fresh sounds.

Several categories celebrated collaborations, with performances and recordings that combined multiple artists, producers, and songwriters. Both technical awards, such as engineering and production, and performance-based categories recognized the teamwork behind the hits of 2025, illustrating the breadth of talent in the industry.

The night also underscored the Grammys’ role in highlighting evolving trends, from cross-genre experimentation to global music influence. Record-breaking moments, historic wins, and emerging stars made the ceremony a reflection of music’s ever-changing landscape while honoring its longstanding traditions.
