The Hunger Games all five films theatrical event is officially coming to theaters in September 2026. Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment announced that tickets are now available for the special screening event.
Fans can watch all five movies across five consecutive days. The event begins Thursday, September 3, and ends Monday, September 7.
Each screening will include an exclusive theatrical preview of the upcoming sixth film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The new movie arrives in theaters on November 20.
The September event gives fans a chance to experience the franchise on the big screen again. It also offers the first look at the next chapter before its official release.
The Hunger Games franchise returns to theaters
The five-film event covers the complete story of the franchise so far. The lineup begins with the original The Hunger Games, which debuted in 2012.
The franchise has earned more than $3.4 billion worldwide across its five films. The success helped establish the series as one of Lionsgate’s biggest properties.
Lionsgate also recently reached another milestone with its Michael Jackson biopic, which pushed the studio past $1 billion in box office earnings. The Hunger Games event arrives as the company continues a strong period of commercial success.

Thursday, September 3:
The Hunger Games introduces Katniss Everdeen and the world of Panem. Katniss volunteers for the deadly competition to save her younger sister, Prim.
Friday, September 4:
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire follows Katniss and Peeta Mellark as they return for the 75th Hunger Games. Meanwhile, unrest begins spreading throughout the districts.
Saturday, September 5:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 shows Katniss becoming the symbol of a rebellion against the Capitol.
Sunday, September 6:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 continues the final battle as Katniss leads the fight against President Snow’s government.
Monday, September 7:
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes takes fans back in time. The prequel explores young Coriolanus Snow and his connection with tribute Lucy Gray Baird.
Every screening includes the exclusive Sunrise on the Reaping preview. Fans who attend all five showings will get the full theatrical experience before the new movie arrives.
What to know about Sunrise on the Reaping
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping takes place 24 years before the original film. The story begins during the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
The film stars Joseph Zada alongside Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Francis Lawrence returns as director. Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie wrote the screenplay based on Suzanne Collins’ novel.
Producers Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Francis Lawrence continue the creative team behind previous Hunger Games projects. Their involvement brings familiar experience to the upcoming chapter.
Lionsgate executive Kevin Grayson called the film one of the most anticipated entries in the franchise. Fathom Entertainment CEO Jason Brenek also highlighted the exclusive previews as a major reason for fans to attend the theatrical event.
