A Texas daycare is facing a lawsuit after a family accused a substitute teacher of encouraging two four-year-old boys to fight.
The incident allegedly happened at Arca Monastery Academy in Fort Worth. According to the lawsuit discussed on The Breakfast Club, the family is seeking more than $1 million in damages.
The allegations became more disturbing after the family reviewed surveillance footage from the classroom.
According to the lawsuit, the two children had gotten into a fight earlier that day. However, instead of simply separating them, the substitute teacher allegedly allowed her son to fight the other child.
The lawsuit further alleges that the teacher grabbed the four-year-old and encouraged her son to hit him.
Surveillance video raises alarm
The family reportedly learned more about the incident after requesting access to the daycare’s surveillance footage.
According to the account discussed on The Breakfast Club, the video allegedly shows the teacher grabbing the child and sweeping his legs from underneath him.
The boy was then allegedly thrown onto the floor.
Another teacher was reportedly in the classroom at the time. However, the lawsuit alleges that the second teacher did not intervene.
The child’s mother said she immediately knew something was wrong when she arrived at the daycare.
“I knew from his cry and the look on his face that something had happened,” she said.
She said she then demanded to see the surveillance footage.
After watching the video, the mother described herself as mortified and said the daycare had failed the trust she placed in it.
Four-year-old reportedly suffers injuries
The family says the child suffered bruises and scratches following the alleged incident.
The boy also reportedly experienced headaches and became afraid to return to the daycare.
Those allegations have intensified concerns about the child’s safety and the responsibility of adults working inside childcare facilities.
The family’s attorney reportedly compared the alleged incident to a “child fight club.”
The attorney also described the child as being treated like a human ragdoll by someone who was supposed to protect him.
Texas regulators investigate daycare
Texas regulators are reportedly investigating the daycare following the allegations.
The daycare was also cited by regulators, according to the discussion on The Breakfast Club.
However, the daycare has reportedly not responded to the lawsuit.
The legal case and regulatory investigation remain ongoing. Therefore, the allegations have not been established as facts in court.
The incident has nevertheless raised serious questions about supervision and child safety in daycare settings.
For parents, the allegations also highlight the importance of understanding how childcare facilities monitor classrooms and respond when children become involved in conflicts.
The family is now seeking accountability after what they say was a deeply disturbing experience involving their four-year-old child.
