Gossip blogger Tasha K has agreed to pay Cardi B $60,000. The payment follows accusations that Kebe violated a previous legal ruling and disparaged the rapper publicly. The agreement, filed Tuesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, states that both parties reached the resolution to avoid the expense, delay and uncertainty of continued litigation.
The dispute traces back to Cardi’s $4 million defamation victory against the blogger, whose legal name is Latasha Kebe, in 2022. As part of that earlier resolution, Cardi agreed to delay collecting the full judgment. Her only condition was that Kebe stop making disparaging comments about her and her family.
New posts reignite the legal dispute
Despite that agreement, Cardi and her legal team claim Kebe ignored the terms. They say she continued posting about sensitive topics, including Cardi’s estranged husband, Offset, and NFL player Stefon Diggs, the father of her youngest child. Those posts prompted the rapper to take renewed legal action, according to court filings.
In April, Cardi filed a motion asking a judge to impose sanctions against Kebe. Her filing described the requested penalty as economically painful. Kebe hosts the online show UnWineWithTashaK.
A pattern of alleged violations
According to Cardi’s legal team, monitoring Kebe’s social media activity has become an ongoing challenge over the past year. They describe the situation as a continuous back and forth between the two parties. Attorneys claim they documented more than two dozen instances they characterized as serious violations of the non-disparagement agreement.
Court filings from April argued that Kebe’s public statements suggested she believed herself immune to legal consequences. The filings further claimed that Kebe openly indicated an intention to resume targeting Cardi once her financial obligations were satisfied.
Terms of the new agreement
Under the newly filed agreement, Kebe has committed to paying Cardi $30,000 within 28 days of the court order. She owes the remaining balance no later than December 31. If Kebe misses either payment deadline, Cardi can issue a formal notice of default. Kebe would then have five additional days to submit payment before facing further consequences.
If Kebe ultimately fails to meet these terms, the agreement allows Cardi to pursue the full previously awarded amount of $110,115. That figure is far higher than the reduced settlement outlined in the new arrangement.
No public comment from either side
Representatives for both Cardi and Kebe have not responded to requests for comment regarding the settlement. Neither side has addressed the circumstances that led to it. The situation remains part of a broader, multi-year legal saga between the two women that began with Cardi’s original defamation lawsuit years earlier.
What comes next
Both parties appear to be working toward resolving the dispute without further court intervention, provided Kebe meets the payment deadlines outlined in the settlement. Given the history between the two, further legal action remains a possibility. That could happen if either side believes the terms of the agreement are not being honored moving forward.
