Halle Berry is entering a new phase of her career with confidence and control, assembling a wide-ranging slate of film and television projects that positions her as both a leading actor and a driving creative force. Through her production company HalleHolly, which she co-founded with producer Holly Jeter, Berry is attached to a growing list of projects across major studios and platforms, signaling a sustained and ambitious expansion of her Hollywood footprint.
The current lineup includes seven notable projects spanning political thrillers, action comedies, horror dramas and character-driven films, many of which feature Berry in starring roles while also carrying her influence behind the scenes.
A political thriller with a new perspective
The president is missing
Berry is set to lead a film adaptation of the best-selling political thriller The President Is Missing, now in development at Apple Original Films. The project reimagines the central role through a gender-swapped lens, with Berry portraying President Joanna Duncan. The story centers on a high-stakes national threat that forces the commander in chief into action beyond the walls of the White House. The film is being produced by HalleHolly alongside established industry partners, marking one of Berry’s most prominent collaborations with Apple to date.
An action comedy built around unlikely heroes
Bad Cop, Bad Cop
In a tonal shift, Berry will headline Bad Cop, Bad Cop, an action comedy directed by Kay Cannon. The film pairs Berry with Fortune Feimster and Jillian Bell in a story that blends chaotic humor with police procedural tropes. Berry’s role anchors the narrative as a seasoned detective who pulls two underprepared officers into a dangerous and absurd journey. The project is being developed for a wide theatrical or streaming release and is expected to be taken to market soon.
Television projects with range and risk
Zero Fs**
Berry is also attached to star in Zero F**s, a comedy series in development at Peacock. The show follows three middle-aged women navigating life’s upheavals while confronting an unexpected mystery. The series blends humor with emotional realism and places Berry in a role that reflects themes she has openly supported through her wellness advocacy work. HalleHolly serves as executive producer alongside multiple studio partners.
The patient
At HBO, Berry is developing The Patient, a psychological horror drama based on a viral short story. The series explores the unsettling relationship between a psychiatrist and a woman believed to be beyond treatment. Berry is positioned to play the central figure whose past and presence destabilize those around her. The project has evolved from an earlier feature concept into a serialized drama, reflecting Berry and Jeter’s long-term development strategy.
Mother Doom
Another television project, Mother Doom, is nearing a development deal at FX. The revenge-driven drama centers on a former special forces operative pulled back into violence after a personal tragedy. Berry is considering the lead role while also serving as an executive producer, reinforcing her interest in complex, physically demanding characters.
A growing film slate beyond acting
Sunburn
Among the films in development, Sunburn stands out as a neo-noir psychological thriller adapted from a novel of the same name. Berry is attached to star as a woman fleeing her past while carefully manipulating her future. The project leans into moral ambiguity and emotional tension, elements that have increasingly defined Berry’s recent choices.
Family Swap
Rounding out the slate is Family Swap, a body-swapping comedy based on a French film. Berry leads an ensemble cast in a story that uses humor and chaos to explore family dynamics and generational conflict. The film is designed as a broad, accessible project that contrasts with the darker material elsewhere on her slate.
Together, these seven projects reflect a deliberate effort by Berry to balance commercial appeal with creative depth, while also maintaining control through production involvement. Since launching HalleHolly in 2022, Berry and Jeter have focused on stories centered on layered characters and inclusive perspectives, a mission that continues to guide their growing portfolio.
